Students Help 80 Year old Janitor

Recently, three seniors from a high school in North Texas did a kind act for their school's janitor. The janitor, James Gailey, who was affectionately known as "Mr. James," had retired but returned to work at the age of 80 due to a US$400 increase in his rent, which he could not afford. Upon learning of Mr. James' situation, Greyson Thurman, Banner Tidwell, and Marti Yusko decided to start a GoFundMe page to raise funds for him. Thurman also created a video on TikTok, showing Mr. James carrying out his daily duties at the school.

Tidwell expressed her feelings, stating that an 80-year-old shouldn't have to work because they need to but because they want to. They were saddened to learn that Mr. James had to work to keep his home. Initially, they hoped to raise $10,000, but the donations surpassed their expectations, amounting to an incredible $270,905 in just nine days.

Contributors to the GoFundMe page praised the students for their kind act. One commentator, Lori Limpar, expressed her respect for Mr. James and hoped that he would have a happy retirement. Sharon Travis praised the students for seeing a need and doing something about it. Meanwhile, the school's principal, Jason Hooper, was amazed at the students' generosity and praised them for their compassion.

According to Tidwell, the experience taught her that there are still good people in the world who care. Despite the negative news that is often reported, people still have the capacity to do good deeds and make a positive difference.
